A bit long so get your kettle on or beer out the fridge before you
settle down to read this!!!!
I am really afraid to get near Barrett of the RAT group councillors as
I would deck him and get myself into trouble.
Throughout my life I have never come across such a devious lot. At
least the Tories dumped councillors before the local elections and did not let
them stand only to be dumped a couple of months later.
You will notice that both of the Tory M.P's that have gone over to UKIP
have the decency to resign and fight the by-election as UKIP candidates. I
think we will have to wait nearly 4 years to throw the so called East Havering
RA out as they do not have the honour or the guts to fight a by-election under
the banner of RATS.
They know that for every one that supports them in their wards at least
4 others do not. The RA movement were getting very near to taking over next
time and those joining the Tories in administration obviously did not want that
to happen.
Anybody with any intelligence (obviously that lot are wanting in that
department) knows full well that if you go into coalition, for that is what
this is, loses the right to run things their way. The junior partner will
always have to accept policies that they do not like and their influence on the
larger party is minimal.
Those of us with principles and honesty believed that allowing a
minority Tory administration to be in charge but with opposition parties able
to outvote them when necessary was the best way for the residents of this
borough. Anybody who remembers will tell you that the best councils we have
ever had were what is called a 'Hung council' i.e. the ruling party unable to
bring in measures that would hurt our residents unless they could convince all
others that the action being taken was a necessity.
As for 'Focus' on line - no chance. On line is free and if free we
would have no income to run the association. On top of that we have many
members who do not even own a computer and need the printed version. We do have
a web-site www.hornchurchresidentsassociation.org.uk
I do not think £3 per annum membership is asking too much when you consider
that you get 12 Focus a year and the help of our councillors and others when
needed. I am all for progress (I was working with computers before most reading
this were born) but only when everybody is able to join in that progress. Some
cannot and some do not want to, that is their choice.
I hope that the RAT's will be able to take pressure for the next 3.75
years. When I saw that letter in the Romford Recorder by that lot stating that
they needed the best talent to run the borough I nearly choked on my wagon wheel.
Talent like a leader who runs away because he cannot get his way over
joining the Tories in administration, talent like a previous useless Labour Mayor, talent like
somebody who left the RA movement and joined two political parties before having
a long term RA councillor kicked out to make room for him, talent like the
sheep who followed the leader without argument and failed to let their
colleagues know what was going on or even worse two boys who have not got a
clue about politics or how a councillor should act as they are political
children.
If this is talent I must be the brain of the universe and I most
certainly am not that!
Just to shut the Labour lot up - when are you going to realize that
each RA councillor was elected as an independent that join together at the Town
Hall to enable them to have some say on committees etc.
The RATS, whatever they say, have left the RA movement as they no
longer follow its policies. If the Labour councillor and others had bothered to
read and understand our leaflets and publications they would have seen a lot of
policies. Just because they are LOCAL policies instead of those of national
parties does not make them invalid. Somebody asked in the Recorder, on Twitter
I think, why RA magazines were allowed in libraries. Because they give
information and do not bang on about national politics like Labours, Tories and
other national parties do. If you can find a Focus in any library supplied by
the HXRA that advertised candidates before the local election produce it or
shut up.
I fear for Havering as we now have the 'pretty boy mafia' and the
muddle headed eight running the council. Hopefully they will stab each other in
the back like they have their former colleagues.
I hate traitors and turncoats and I am sure that most of you do also.
